We use colour matched Velcro strips, which act as a hinge - allowing the screen to be partially open/closed. This is ideal if the window handle protrudes past the window frame surface, when closed, as it enables you to close the screen as far as possible, with the screen mesh resting on the handle. The screen can also be easily removed if required.
We supply two Velcro strips, one hook and one loop, both with high strength self-adhesive backs. You simply cut your hinges to size, then fix one side to the back of the screen and the other to the window frame. The screen can then be secured to the window frame.
We also supply a length of Brown magnetic strip and a length of white steel strip, each with high strength self-adhesive backs. These are applied in the same way as the Velcro, on the opposite side to the Velcro hinge and act as magnetic “catches”
The magnetic and steel strips are interchangeable so if you have a Brown window frame/screen you can use the White steel strip on the back of the screen (out of view) and the Brown magnetic strip on the window frame. These can be switched around if you have a White window frame/screen.
This fixing enables you to fit and remove the screen in seconds and is useful if you wish to remove the screen when not in use.
We supply a length of brown magnetic strip and a length of white steel strip, both with high strength self-adhesive backs. You simply cut a length of each, then fix one to the back of the screen frame and the other to the window frame. You can fix on either two or all four sides of the screen. The screen can then be secured to the window frame magnetically.
The magnetic and steel strips are interchangeable so if you have a Brown window frame/screen you can use the White steel strip on the back of the screen (out of view) and the Brown magnetic strip on the window frame. These can be switched around if you have a White window frame/screen.
This fixing enables you to fit and remove the screen in seconds. You may wish to remove the screen because of window protrusions, e.g. handles preventing the screen being closed when the window is closed, or you may simply prefer to store the screen when not in use.
We supply a length of brown magnetic strip (a) and a length of brown magnetic strip (b) both with high strength self-adhesive backs. We supply enough to run the whole outline of the screen frame, to ensure maximum strength fixing in a commercial environment. You simply cut one length of each for each side of the frame, then fix the (a) strips to the back of the screen frame and the (b) strips to the window frame.
This fixing enables you to fit and remove the screen in seconds, with the added benefit that it can be used when screens are fitted outside. You may also wish to remove the screen because of window protrusions, e.g. handles preventing the screen being closed when the window is closed, or you may simply prefer to store the screen when not in use.
The screen is held in place by turn buttons, which are screwed to the window frame and swivelled into position across the face of the screen frame as shown below.

This fixing enables the screen to be opened in the same way as a window allowing the screen to be partially open/closed. This is ideal if the window handle protrudes past the window frame surface when closed because it would enable you to close the screen as far as possible, with the screen mesh resting on the handle. The screen can also be easily removed if required simply by lifting it off the hinges.
For some applications, e.g. fitting externally, screws can be used instead of other fittings by screwing through the screen frame into the window frame or surround.
Doors screens are fitted with either lift on/lift off hinges or are located within tracks to enable them to slide backward and forward. When you select kit, the appropriate fixes will be included. See - To the doorframe or in the reveal? for more information.
