What type of mesh do I need?
We offer three types of Mesh to cater for a variety of requirements:
Fibreglass (standard)
Polyester for Pets and Commercial use
Midge Mesh
Fibreglass
This is our standard mesh and is generally used as a standard within the screening industry.The mesh is made from woven fibreglass coated with PVC, making it waterproof and robust.
- Mesh Count: 18 x 16 threads per inch (288 holes per sq. inch)
- Colour: Light Grey
This mesh will keep out flies, wasps, bees, mosquitoes and other insects but not midges (see below)
Polyester (Pet Mesh & Commercial Mesh)
This mesh is ideal for use with pets and in commercial environments.
This mesh is made from PVC coated woven polyester. It is seven times stronger than standard mesh yet still offers good outward visibility.
Pets - Ideal where more ‘adventurous’ pets are present as it resists tears and damage by cats, dogs and other animals. A good option for those who feel the standard fibreglass mesh may not be adequate for their pet.
Commercial – The strength of this mesh makes it ideal for commercial environments such as kitchens, and food packing areas.
- Mesh Count: 16 x 14 threads per inch (224 holes per sq. inch)
- Colour: Black
This mesh will keep out flies, wasps, bees, mosquitoes and other insects but not midges (see below)
Midge Mesh
This mesh uses a fine weave to prevent the smallest of insects from penetrating.
- Mesh Count: 20 x 20 threads per inch (400 holes per sq. inch)
- Colour: Charcoal
This mesh will keep out flies, wasps, bees, mosquitoes and other insects including midges
Availability
All kits are priced with our standard 18x16 fibreglass mesh.
Both Polyester and Midge mesh are available with all kits; the cost is shown when the option is selected.
